Terms of Service
July 2026
By using SyntaxMaster you agree to these terms. They are intentionally brief.
The service
SyntaxMaster provides free developer tools including formatters, converters, validators, and encoders. All tool processing runs locally in your browser — no tool input is transmitted to our servers for processing. The only time content is sent to our servers is when you explicitly choose to save or share a snippet.
The service is provided free of charge, supported by Google AdSense advertising. Your use of SyntaxMaster is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
Acceptable use
You must be at least 13 years old to use SyntaxMaster (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher).
You may use SyntaxMaster for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure
- Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access the service at scale without prior written permission
- Save or share illegal, harmful, abusive, or copyright-infringing content via the snippet feature
- Attempt to circumvent security measures, rate limits, or access controls
- Impersonate SyntaxMaster or misrepresent your affiliation with the service
Violations may result in your access being restricted and, where required by law, reported to relevant authorities.
Snippet sharing
When you save a snippet, you grant SyntaxMaster a limited, royalty-free licence to store and serve that content for the sole purpose of making it accessible via your share link. Anonymous snippets are permanently deleted after 7 days. Authenticated snippets are kept until you delete them or close your account.
Anyone with a share link can view the snippet — links are long and unguessable, but the content is not password-protected. Do not save or share passwords, API keys, personal data belonging to others, or any content you do not have the right to distribute.
You are solely responsible for the content you save and share. If you believe content saved by another user infringes your copyright, email hello@syntaxmaster.dev with the share URL and a description of the infringement.
Third-party services
SyntaxMaster integrates third-party services including Google AdSense (advertising) and Google and GitHub OAuth (sign-in). Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the conduct or practices of third-party services.
No warranties
SyntaxMaster is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of tool output, uptime, or fitness for any particular purpose. Always verify output from any automated tool before relying on it — especially in production, legal, medical, or financial contexts.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SyntaxMaster and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed AUD 100.
Intellectual property
SyntaxMaster: The SyntaxMaster name, logo, website design, and source code are the property of SyntaxMaster and its operators. You may not reproduce or redistribute them without prior written permission.
Your output: Tool output you generate belongs entirely to you — we make no claim to content you create or transform using SyntaxMaster.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SyntaxMaster and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these terms, your use of the service, or content you save or share.
Changes to the service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of material changes. We are not liable for any inconvenience or loss resulting from such changes.
Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SyntaxMaster regarding your use of the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Australia.
Language
These terms are written in English. Where a translation is provided, it is for convenience only. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
